The Pontoon Marina at Kyle of Lochalsh

Pontoon Marina

The Community Trust owns the pontoons in Kyle village centre which provide berthage for visiting and local boats as well as commercial boat operators. This facility is normally open from 8am to 9pm daily, April to September.

In 2019 season, we’ve been delayed with opening the pontoons due to unexpected problems, however our facility will be open from 14th July.

If you would like to donate please do so using the button below.

Facilities

The pontoons can accommodate up to 20 vessels.

Power and water are available on the pontoons. We have 20 power outlets: 18 x 16a, and 2 x 32a.

Toilet, shower and laundry facilities are available in the Public Conveniences building at the upper car park.

Waste bins are provided near the traffic lights and recycling bins are at the upper car park.

Fuel can be obtained from the Harbour. Please contact the Harbour Master’s office (01599 534167). Small quantities of fuel should be obtained from the garage on Station Road.

Within a few minutes by foot, there is a variety of shops including Co-op supermarket, butchers, pharmacy, Post Office and banks. There is also a good range of hotels, B&Bs, pubs, restaurants and take-aways.

Berthing fees

Due to unexpected issue in 2019 season we do not have charging rates for pontoons. Instead we will encourage everyone to donate. Suggested donation is £2 per meter per day.

Moorings are chargeable at £10 per day.

Ways to make payments for moorings & electricity and donations for pontoons:

– cash payments to our Pontoons Supervisor Kevin McCann who will present you with a receipt

– use our donation button (further up this page) for pontoon berths

– use the donation box at the facility if no-one is about.

Transport

Kyle benefits from excellent transport links enabling crew to join or leave your vessel. The train station is just two minutes from the pontoon, offering a connection to Inverness and the airport with direct flights to a number of UK and international airports. Coaches provide prompt transport to Inverness, Fort William and Glasgow, whilst arrival and departure by car is straightforward on the A87.
