The Pontoon Marina at Kyle of Lochalsh
The Kyle & Community Trust (KLCT) owns the pontoons in Kyle village centre, which provide berthage for 20 boats and nearby moorings with space for a further 5 boats. These are available for use by both visitors and local boats, with some space also available for commercial boat operators. These facilities are available from April to September each year.
Unfortunately the Pontoons will not be in the water this year due to issues sourcing new parts for essential repairs. The engineers have now come up with a ‘fix’ which will use the existing materials, but the scale of work rules out the installation this season.
We are instead continuing to work on our plans for next year’s season and will have the Pontoons installed in time for Easter 2022.
The Pontoons are a great community asset and we have been working on improvements and developing the Pontoon provision which will be available next year.
We apologies for any inconvenience caused.

The pontoons provide easy access to all essential services, including power, water, and waste disposal. Toilet, shower and laundry facilities (also owned by KLCT) are near the head of the pontoons. Many more services are conveniently situated nearby in the village including supermarket, fuel (either from the Harbour or garage forecourt), hardware store, café, Seafood deli, & restaurants, butcher, pharmacy, post office, doctors & dentist.
Kyle of Lochalsh benefits from excellent transport links enabling crew to join or leave your vessel. The train station is just two minutes from the pontoon, offering a connection to Inverness and the airport with direct flights to a number of UK and international airports. Citylink coaches provide prompt transport to Inverness, Fort William and Glasgow, whilst arrival and departure by car is straightforward on the A87.
