Plock Hub Building

A major infrastructural project identified by the Plock Masterplan was to create a Hub building that would provide recreational facilities such as toilets and a café as well as a multipurpose room and some office space for KLCT. The Hub is seen as an essential infrastructure that would support many of the other projects planned at the Plock.

The trust have been working with Dualchas Architects to design this building and surrounding infrastructure. As part of this process we have also carried out specialist assessments such as an otter survey & mitigation measures, transport assessment and a drainage assessment. Keeping in theme with the Viking Living Village which we are hoping to set up at the Plock, the Hub building will have elements styled on Viking heritage.

The initial designs presented to our community in Autumn 2019. Final drafts were to be presented to the community for further comments, however the community consultation has been postponed due to Covid-19. The consultation has been paused at the moment.  Covid-19 has promoted a change in funding schemes and we are currently reviewing opportunities for the Hub build.
