About Kyle & Lochalsh Community Trust (KLCT)

Kyle & Lochalsh Community Trust was established in August 2012 to take forward the work of its predecessor, the Kyle Development Group.

As a Community Trust we aim to achieve the sustainable regeneration of our community which, despite its magnificent geographic setting, has been identified as one of the most economically fragile in the Highlands.

We work to generate income through enterprise and the ownership of assets. As a not-for-profit organisation, all of our trading surpluses are reinvested in the community.

We are owned and managed by the local community and organised on democratic principles. We are independent but seek to work in partnership with other public, private and voluntary organisations.

We have over 300 members. Anyone can become a member of our Community Trust, however voting rights are restricted to individuals who are at least 16 years old and live within our catchment area. For more information about become a member please click here.
