The Young Lochalsh Collaborates Commission

For one or two digital artists/filmmakers to work collaboratively with KLCT to
engage young people in a school setting as part of the Lochalsh C
ollaborates project.

The aim of the digital art/film project will be to explore with the young people what would make
Lochalsh a better place, for the whole community, but presented from the viewpoint of young
people.
The artist or filmmaker will use this exploration to work with the young people to produce a final
piece or pieces of digital art or film. The final piece/s will be shared with the community and so
must communi
cate clearly what the young people have discovered about their community and

about what would make it a better place. It is important that the final piece or pieces is accessible
to a diverse and non-arts audience so that it will help to inform community opinion and the
development of the Community Action Plan.
The artist/s/filmmaker/s will work with
pupils at Plockton High School and the feeder primary

schools as part of transition preparations from Primary 7 to High School.
We are interested in proposals that have a consideration of how the final work will communicate
clearly to the community, address accessibility needs and can be shared widely across multiple
platforms.
