In November 2019 we submitted 3 funding bids for a 3 year long project at the Plock costing £354,975. This money will be used to employ a Ranger and an Outdoor Learning & Well-being Officer, undertake alterations to the Toll Office to make it disabled friendly and create a better activities space, set up a Community Shed at the Toll Office, provide storage for tools and equipment and most importantly – deliver activities and volunteering opportunities at the Plock.
We are now happy to announce that we were granted a National Lottery award of £120,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund as well as £5,000 from Think Health Think Nature. The HGHP has also committed to contribute £10,000 towards this project as well as another £10,000 from LEADER to organise a large green health event at the Plock later this year. Other confirmed match-funders are the Skye Bridge Trust, Baillie Gifford and KLCT. The last piece of a jigsaw is a funding bid submitted to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for £196,100 – to be announced in early April.
We are launching our activities this month with a photography course for young people suffering from anxiety and/or depression. Next month we will have 3 family friendly art events and everyone is welcome to attend. More information will be provided soon!
